It was a way of bringing neighbors together in the midst of winter when social get togethers are few. The four ladies that made it happen were Council members: Ali, Judi, Jennifer & Marlys.

2023 Yard Sale Reviews

“I think the instructions were great! My sale did pretty darn good too. 😊 It was overall a great day and thank you all for your hard work putting this together year after year.”Barb McDonald

“Thanks so much for organizing the sale with the maps etc.  I was at Judy B’s on 5th and had quite the turn out with people carrying their maps.  The only complaint I heard was that you ran out of doughnuts – you need to buy more doughnuts! Great job to all of you!” – Cindy Gardner

“I think you ladies did a wonderful job with this sale.  All went wonderfully.  Our “Support our Girl Scouts” sale did very well and we had a wonderful time talking with all the shoppers.  The Girl Scouts made a good bit of money and the shoppers almost cleaned us out of merchandise.  Great sale!!!”Maureen Carl

In addition, come meet Bestowing the Basic (BTB), a new charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves Athol, Bayview, Careywood, and other small, rural, underserved communities throughout north Idaho. URGENT NEED AT THE ABC FOOD BANK (Athol, Bayview, Careywood)

Bayview Community Council Annual Food Drive – NEXT SATURDAY, September 10th, NEAR THE BAYVIEW MERCANTILE

This year there is an even more extreme need to stock the food bank. The number of needy families in our community has increased as the cost of everything has gone up as we come through the pandemic years.
Every year, the Bayview Community Council holds a food drive at the end of the summer with great success—tons of food and cash donations have been gathered door-to-door or dropped off at the Community Center. A lot of Bayview generosity came out those years.
But this year, we simply do not have enough volunteers to do door-to-door collection.
The need is still there and is greater.
So, we ask you to deliver your extra canned food, unopened pasta, rice, bean, cereal packages, personal care items (soap, toothpaste, toilet paper), school supplies—whatever you can spare and bring it to the collection site.
A check can be delivered to the collection site or mailed to PO Box 112. It all adds up to tons of good.

Here’s how to donate:
When: Saturday September 10, 8a.m.-2p.m.
Where: Curbside donations near the Mercantile, Downtown Bayview
How: Hand off your donation to a Timberlake Firefighters or a Council volunteer

Make check payable to the ABC FOOD BANK and mail to the Bayview Community Council, P.O. Box 112, Bayview, ID 83803 Or call for pick-up at your home, call 208-683-3295, Marlys.
Thank you from the Bayview Community Council and the recipients of your generosity!

Love Letters - A play by A R Gurney - August 26th, 27th and 28th

Love Letters is a funny and emotional portrait about the powerful connection of love. Two friends, rebellious Melissa Gardner and straight-arrow Andrew Makepeace Ladd III have exchanged notes, cards and letters with each other for over 50 years. From second grade, through summer vacations, to college, and well into adulthood, they have spent a lifetime discussing their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, and victories and defeats.

Andrew Makepeace Ladd III will be played by Mike Pearce, a North Idaho native who grew up in the Silver Valley. Mike fondly remembers his very first play was performing Love Letters with his wife, Anna (Patty Duke), and is thrilled to be enacting the show again for this worthwhile event and the chance to work with Anne and Rebecca.

Melissa Gardner will be played by Anne Lunceford Capellen. Anne has been active in theatre and voice, as an actor and a director since her childhood. A native of Coeur d’Alene and graduate in Communication Arts from Pacific Lutheran University, she is a voice actor and a script writer and has nearly twenty years as on-camera talent as a nationally televised teacher for a project funded by the US Department of Education. Anne loves that she has the opportunity to reprise the role of Melissa.

The Director, Rebecca Priano Vellucci, grew up in Coeur d’Alene. She was the Director for the Children’s Theater at Lake City Playhouse and had her own Theater Company, Performance Plus for several years. Rebecca is excited to be part of this endeavor.
